Joanne Ryan Named CEO of Alpha Sintered Metals

Ridgway, PA – February 11, 2009 – Alpha Sintered Metals, Inc. (ASM), a manufacturer of highly engineered powdered metal products for the lawn and garden, small engine and industrial sectors, announced today the appointment of JoAnne Ryan as President and Chief Executive Officer. Ryan will replace interim CEO Matthew Brennan, an Operating Principal at Key Principal Partners Corp. (KPP). KPP has been the majority owner of ASM since 2004.

Prior to joining ASM, Ryan served in numerous leadership roles at Metaldyne Corporation (Metaldyne), a Michigan–based manufacturer of metal–formed components, assemblies and modules for the global automotive and transportation industry and automotive aftermarket. Most recently, she was Vice President and General Manager of the Metaldyne Metals Group, where she was responsible for global operations of the fabricated exhaust and aluminum die casting units. Previously, Ryan was Vice President and General Manager for China Operations at Metaldyne, where she oversaw Powertrain and Chassis operations in China.

Ryan graduated with a B.S. in business management and a concentration in finance from the University of Pittsburgh, where she was named a University Scholar. She lives in St. Marys, PA with her husband Dave and daughter Brittany.
